On a chilly, rainy, snowy day in fall of 2017 I took this photo in Ophir valley of Southwest Colorado. Rain on the lens and my back ended picture taking that day. Did you spot the green man in the trees?

The next day sunlight gave the forest a completly different feel. This almost looks like a tropical, rather than mountain forest.<\/figcaption>\n<\/figure>\n

This area is a sort of plateau with a gentle slope. I could not determine if the clearing was largely natural, or manmade. In any case, here most of the prior days show has melted, but the ground was wet, giving the ground a glasslike sheen.<\/p>\n<\/figcaption>\n<\/figure>\n

Now lets visit places warmer and drier.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In March of 2020 we visited a regular haunt, Santa Fe. Alas, the day we got there they announced COVID restrictions\u00a0 would increase greatly the next day. This first picture is at an I-25 rest stop 60 miles or so south of Trinidad, Colorado.

On our second night, when almost everything was closed. I went out of the hotel about 9pm and took my backup camera to see what I might. (Well, I forgot the good camera.\u00a0 It happens.) This is one of the downtown galleries, full of art, but starting in the morning, customers would not be allowed to puruse it.\u00a0

This gallery specializes in art made from rock, fossils, and carries some wearable art. The streets were quiet. Solo window shopping was feeling a bit unreal.

This is the renowned Santa Fe Plaza, save some youngsters occasionaly cruising by in customized cars, all was quiet.

No photo for this story, though I wish I had one. I found one open bar and went in for a gin and tonic. I wound up having a interesting chat about business, COVID, and Santa Fe night life with its young owner. I have since learned that the elegant bar, “Tonic” has closed.

I took pictures afterward, and this was one of the last of the evening. The photo is of decent quality, but I want this image to present the sense of dissolution everything had that night.\u00a0 So I applied an assortment of Photoshop filters to present Burro alley as you see it above.<\/figcaption>\n<\/figure>\n

The images above are photos I present to reward those who have taken the effort to visit my site.\u00a0 With the holidays past, taxes done, and processing of already taken photos complete, I’ll try to update things more promptly. No promises when it comes to fighting with the Web,\u00a0 tho.<\/p>\n

Web Designing<\/h2>\n

Forunately my life does not depend on a web site design, as this spiders did. The critter build a fantastic web in my backyard when I lived in LA. It was about 7 ft tall and 12-15 wide! I let it be, but it olny lasted a couple weeks, the many racoons that ran through the yard at night probaby took it down.<\/p>\n

Some Color, for the Hope of a Bright Spring<\/h2>\n

Well, OK\u00a0 the radar (?) room from the battleship Iowa is red but is not so happy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No better, eh? Some debris in the Seattle Underground. If there was ever a place to film some post apocolyptic movie with few added sets…\u00a0 But lets get colors other than red.<\/p>\n

There we are, Unification currency! Not cheery yet? How about something natural?<\/p>\n

A sunrise on Wright Patterson Air Force Base perhaps. Ah, color, but its fall time.\u00a0 Well, OK, lets find some bright spring color.<\/p>\n

No stone is rolling in this leprechaun’s garden. The little folk are known for their craft skills. Lets look at something crafty.<\/p>\n

Heres some glasswork, is this already posted? Maybe. The photo was taken in a now closed antique and fine art store.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Now thats color. This glasswork has made by the artisans of the Chihuly school, displayed in the museum of that name in Seattle.<\/p>\n

Its too soon (in Colorado) for springtime flowers, but spring will come. I’ll be working on some paintings over the near term. I hope you enjoyed the February update.<\/p>\n
